We’ve got your CORE covered
//10 Jan 2017
The Scottish Dental Show is the place to be in 2017 to top up your CORE CPD requirements.
Lezley Ann Walker and Liz Webster will be returning to the show following their hugely successful 2016 workshops and will be presenting a lecture on ‘Medical emergencies for the dental team’ on Saturday 20 May at 9am. They will also be hosting a series of workshops, more information on these will follow in the coming weeks.
Also on Saturday morning, Professor Graham Ogden from the University of Dundee will be giving an update on oral cancer, focusing on risk factors and early detection before Lynne Cotter from NHS Education for Scotland takes to the podium to present a decontamination and infection control lecture at 2.15pm.
Christine Park’s 2016 presentation on ‘Safeguarding and child protection for the dental team’ was seen by just over 300 people and she will be returning in 2017 with an updated lecture on the topic at 10.45am on the Saturday.
On Friday 19 May at 10.45am, MDDUS’s head of dental division and dental advisor Aubrey Craig will be speaking about ‘The ‘C’ word – for GDC registrants!’ and the following day, Helen Kaney, Dental Protection’s head of dental services Scotland, will be exploring ‘Ethics and the GDC’ also at 10.45am.
There will also be a first appearance on the lecture programme at the Scottish Dental Show for Andrew Gulson from Public Health England. He will be speaking about radiation protection at 2.15pm on Friday.
We are hoping to add more CORE CPD to the programme in the coming weeks, so please check the website and follow us on Twitter – @ScottishDental – for all the latest information.
