Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry
Philip qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2000 with degrees in anatomy and dentistry. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.
Phil heads a large private general practice, Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry in Glasgow, which he has built up as a referral clinic over the last seven years. In addition, he is clinical director of Scottish Dental Care (SDC) Group Ltd.
He is heavily involved in teaching, mentoring and lecturing on many aspects of dental implantology for a number of implant and bio material manufacturers. An active involvement with the ADI over the last eight years has involved roles as study club host and secretary/treasurer, culminating in the role of president for 2013-15.
Phil and his team run a number of courses throughout the year, including the implant year course and the sinus augmentation course, both of which involve theory, practical and hands-on cadaver elements. They also host the CBCT theory course, basic surgical course and an introduction to implants for the general dental practitioner, as well as more general CPD courses including endodontics, radiology, nurse and hygienist courses.
