Paul Mallett, BSc (Hons), FOTA, MIMPT, FDTA, started his technical career in 1979 in a specialist commercial orthodontic laboratory. In 1992 he took up a post in the NHS, and is now maxillofacial laboratory manager for University Hospitals of Morecambe bay NHS Foundation Trust and a consultant MPT. He has also worked as an associate lecturer at the Manchester Metropolitan University’s courses in Orthodontic Technology.
Paul has served as secretary and now Chairman of the Orthodontic Technicians Association (UK), and as past president for the Dental Technologists Association. Has also served as co-opted DCP member on the GDC’s registration committee and continues to lecture extensively at national and international conferences and seminars.
Has published many articles within the dental press and on electronic media and, in 2014, he was the recipient of the British Orthodontic Technicians Award to an Orthodontic Technician for Distinguished Service.
