Graham Ogden BDS, MDSc, PhD, FDS RCPS, FDS RCS, FHEA, FRSA, is Professor and Head of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Clinical Sciences at the University of Dundee. His research interests include the early detection of oral cancer and the role of alcohol.
He completed his specialist training in academic oral and maxillofacial surgery (AACOMS) in 1993 and was appointed to the Chair in 1999. He is on the GDC specialist list for both oral surgery and oral medicine. He is a former recipient of the prestigious British Society for Dental Research Colgate prize and also the British Society for Oral medicine prize for his research in Oral cancer.
He is currently co-lead for the MRes in Oral cancer Taught Master’s degree (MRes Oral cancer) at the University of Dundee. He is an Associate Editor for the journal ‘Oral Surgery’ and has been an examiner for many of the UK universities. He is also on the Medical Advisory Panel for Drinkaware.
In 2012 he was awarded the Ian Stevenson Award for Public Engagement with Research. Having previously served as a Vice Dean from 2013-2015 and then Dean Elect, he became Dean of the Dental Faculty and Vice President (Dental) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2016.
